Standard PO not send for Approval on change in position hierarchy

Dear Experts,

My applicaton version is 11.10.5.2

We use the posiiton hierarchy for approving PO's.

I have changed the hierarchy to include a new position and all subordinates in the earlier position are added under the new position. 

Even then for PO's send for approval it does not go to the new approver for approval. It still goes to the old approver even though there are no subordinates under the position.

This is happening in my production instance.

It is working properly in my UAT instance.

I need help.
