archives not transferring to standby machine

 Hi,

I have been practising data guard using "Oracle® Data Guard Concepts and Administration 10 g Release 2 (10.2)" chapter 3.

I had configured all the steps using this doc. I am using vmware workstation on winxp. I installed win 2003 server and Oracle 10.2.0.1 database on both virtual machines.

When i start redo apply on  the physical standby database using the statement "SQL> ALTER DATABASE RECOVER MANAGED STANDBY DATABASE DISCONNECT FROM SESSION; " its ok till here.

When i switch logfile in primary database, the archive logs are not transferred to standby. I have configured TNS on both instances and they can communicate.

Where should i look for error. i am unable to open the standby database. An error is displayed that the datafiles still point to the location of primary database. I had set the parameter
