Cross platform migration Oracle 9 HPUX to Oracle 10 Red Hat

Hi really hope you can help and that this is the correct forum sorry if its not.  I have to do a cross platform migration and upgrade to Oracle 10 on Red Hat from Oracle 9 on HPUX.  My plan is to install Oracle 9i on the new Red Hat server take an export on the HPUX server and load into the Red Hat servers Oracle 9.  Then install Oracle 10 on the Red Hat server and export from Oracle 9 on there and then import into Oracle 10.  I can not install Oracle 10 on the HPUX server because
