Enter Foreign language characters in Journal description line

in General Ledger - EBS (MOSC) Question
 Hi,

We are looking to enter Chinese characters in the Journal description line. However when we add these characters only squares appear on the line. Is there an option I need to chose to view the chinese characters in the correct format?
