Physcial standby Activation Question

This may be a silly question but .. we now have dataguard configured for a database on the same host for a   Live and  a  Live_stby  database.   we have the live_stby on a 72 hour delay and our sole purpose is for data corruption recovery not hardware failure (hence being on same node) The goal would be that were we ever to need to recover to a point in time up to 72 hours back we could activate the standby database to a production database.  ( I also know that configuring flashback would actually accomplish this but I
