Receive automated alerts

Hello -

Our company has deployed various Oracle Enterprise Linux Servers.  Is there a way to receive updates (critical, OS related, patch info, etc...) from Oracle in an automated fashion? 

What I need to do is have the ability to receive these automated messages (perhaps via email??) and depending on how verbose the information is in the alert, to be able to further extract information pertaining to the alert from Oracle - all in an automated fashion.

Does Oracle provide a mechnism that would allow outside connections (i.e. wget) into their systems to extract "alert" information?
