Sales Order Preference Profiles

In the Delivery Date and Order Preparation Days when you set up by Customer Group does it matter if the customer is a bill to or a ship to?  And if the bill to customer happens to be in one group and the ship to customer happens to be in a different group which preference will be used, the preference for the bill to or the preference for the ship to?
