(new to communities, so apologies if I am in the wrong place)

 I am looking for information about configuring ASM.  I have a few articles about ASM from the oracle perspective, but I am looking for "suggested values" for my storagetek arrays: segment size, number of disks, should I configure RAID 10, 0 at the storage level etc, etc.

I have several arrays 6140, 6540 etc and want to compare the immediate benefit (if any) from going from UFS to ASM.   My plan was to add an additional tray of disks to a dev system, configure an identical database instance using ASM on this tray and finally benchmark our current UFS setup against the ASM configuration.
