How can I improve the performance of a compensation Plan

We are facing  severe performance issues with one of our compensarion plans becasue of the huge number of transactions being processed by this plan and also because its a GBI plan.

Plan Input:SUM QUANTITY

Output : Rate Table Result

Interval : JUL to AUG

Type:GBI

Rate Table Type: Amount

Rate Table e.g

0-1000000               30000

1000000-2000000    40000

2000000-30000000   50000

3000000-9999999999  10000000

Any help on this will be highly appreciated.
