Can I Delete a Journal Entry That is Already In Process for Approval?

We have a situation where a journal entry was created and submitted for approval before the approver had his limits set up.  Therefore, he gets the notification of the approval, but cannot approve it even though his limits are now set up.  Is there a way to either delete the journal and re-create it, or change something so he can approve the journal?
