auditing Gl approvals

We've implemented electronic approvals in GL.  [with a Workflow]  I know data is dumped in the the WF_notifications table.  In the field message will be something like:

'Smith, Joe approved your journal batch KD05192011-2 19-MAY-2011 10:49:56.'  -- 

how does EBS build the data in that field.  How can one pull out the journal batch number
and link it the GL tables so we can build and audit trail linking the WF approval to
the journal batch details, to see exactly all the details to what was approved?
