flash recovery area and operating system backups
Hi,
I have a 10g R2 database running with flash back enabled. At night our Unix admin runs a tape backup of all mount points on the server, including the flash recovery area. The system has separate locations for archived logs and RMAN backups(which include a backup of the controlfile, etc...), so they aren't housed in the flash recovery area due to space limitations.
My question is, does my Unix admin need to backup the flash recovery area to tape? Are those files even valid once they've been backed-up?
Thanks,
John
