Re-installing OEM software without losing repository

hi,

We are having a problem with the OEM software on a Linux server for which support has not yet found a cause.  What we would like to do is to reinstall the software but be able to retain the existing repository in the database.  i have been unable to find any documentation on if this feasible and if so how.

any info appreciated.  thanks in advance...ron
