Server will not boot - Warning init(M) exited on fatal signal 9

Good afternoon

We have a V210 running Solaris 10 which will not reboot, even to single user mode. The error "Warning init(M) exited on fatal signal 9" loops round and round forever.

We have a third party supplier remotely logged in and he is upgrading a piece of software. Library files were copied into /usr/lib. At this point the server fell over and will not come back.

Files copied in where:

libmalloc.so.1

libmp.so.2

libnsl.so.1

libc.so.1

libsocket.so.1

libdl.so.1

libm.so.1

As far as I can there is a problem with file libc.so.1 The size within /lib was zero and it was showing today's date. I copied the file again but the server is still on its back.

Howdy, Stranger!
