RMAN backup to disk - slow

Hi

On our 10.,2.0.4 database on Windows, we are using conventional hot backups (alter tablespace begin backup, copy file, alter tablespace end backup)
The database size is 102 GB and the conventional hot backup takes about an hour and 25 minutes to complete

We are in the process of migrating to RMAN backups and performing tests for 1) Full backup and 2) Full compressed backup

RMAN Full backup is taking about 2 hours and 50 minutes (consistently) and RMAN Full COMPRESSED backup is taking 4 hours and 40 minutes

We were wondering if there is a way to speed up the RMAN backup (to disk)?
