CPU and PSU Patches

Hi Folks,
Anybody can tell me the exact difference between oracle's patching CPU and PSU mechanisms? I have followed oracle documents but not yet cleared on this.

Which is the best mechanism for my 11gR2, HP-UX Itanium 64-bit servers.
