Oracle Disk Increase on SEA 8.0 to SIA 8.1 Upgrade

Hi All,

 

I was pleased to see just modest disk space increase on a recent SEA to SIA upgrade.  The number of tables and indexes doubled on this upgrade.

 

The table tablespace increased by 9% and the index tablespace increased by 26%.

 

This was with Oracle 11.1 and not 11.2.  In 11.2 with deferred segment creation the increase would have probably been far less.  For this project the customer had to go with 11.1 and not 11.2.
