What is OHIA (formerly Sun Installation Assistant)?

What is it?

Oracle Hardware Installation Assistant (OHIA) is host software for Sun X64 system setup & off-line maintenance. 
The software guides the end user through common tasks that include:

    • Hardware configuration and firmware (System BIOS, ILOM, HBA etc) updates
    • OS installation: Windows, Linux 
    • Driver Installation: Windows and Linux
    • SP Recovery
    • Post OS-installation: Install Oracle distributed software

Why it is needed?

Common customer question: “What firmware, drivers and applications do I need, and Where do I get them”
OHIA packages firmware, drivers, applications and makes it easy to deploy them in one easy step during OS installation.

OHIA supports several legacy and new Sun x64 hardware systems.  While the list below is not comprehensive, it includes
