E-Business Tax with Vertex

 We are in the process of upgrading both EBS and Vertex.  We have upgraded EBS to R12 in a DEV environment but have not upgraded Vertex yet.  Is there a way to unhook Vertex from EBS so that we can test R12 without getting the error messages about Vertex not being linked.  Is there a setting in the EBusiness Tax module that we can change to turn off Vertex?
