Support for legacy systems that have included the UltraSPARC I, II, IIe, III, IIIi, III+, IV and IV+
Hello
The following link implies that Oracle are dropping support for the older UltraSPARC processors in Solaris 11.
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/systems/end-of-notices/eonsolaris11-392732.html
Does anyone see this as a "worrying" development?
Whilst we do run T series for certain applications, we have a lot of UltraSPARC kit which falls in to this category and it now appears we cannot take them beyond Solaris 10 without moving to the T or M series servers.
Anyone in the same position, does anyone think this is a potentially bad move?
