tremendous SGA increase needed in 11.2.0.2 after upgrades from 10.2.0.4

First, if this is not the correct community for this, can someone direct me?
When we upgraded from 10.2.0.4, the SGA requirements darn near doubled.  We keep on getting ORA-04031 shared memory exhaustion.  when we increase the SHARED_POOL_SIZE and JAVA_POOL_SIZE, it quites the noise down.  I feel like I am in the 'Little shop of horrors' with how much more memory  each database wants.  When you talking 11 - 15 per our cluster, that is almost too much for us to take care of.

My question is, has anyone else seen this and if so, did you find out what is requiring the huge increase?
