115102 upgrade to 12.1.3

Hi, In a 2 node mid-tier and 2 node db rac

we are upgrading 115102 to 1213. observed at some point of time, a single sql is spawned by all the 64 workers (32 workers running on one mid-tier and rest 32 running on second mid-tier---distributed AD, shared appl-top). this script ran for more than 2 hrs while it took only 1 hr in single node upgrade. noticed that there were transient locks occurring becuase of the same command/sql being run on both the instances of RAC.

jdbc-url in context file of application nodes is pointing to individual db nodes and not service name.

pl advise what are the steps to be taken for running R12 upgrade using 11g RAC nodes.
