Newly added customer numbers are not sequential

Hello All,
We recently updated our Database to 11i, and we have noticed that when we enter/add a new customer, the numbers for the new customers are not sequential. So we added a new customer with number 353017, and the next customer was 353057. Does anyone know of a setup option or profile value to turn sequential numbering back on for Customer numbers?
