How do you derive the total quantity in BOM Consolidation report?

Hi,

Currently, we are using Agile 9.2.2.4.   When we tried to generate a BOM Consolidation report under Analytics & Reports, the value shows in total quantity for each item is not correct.     How?  we generate a BOM Explosion report and exported it to excel to find out the number of times an item has been used on that BOM and unfortunately, it does not match with the value indicated in total quantity of the BOM Consolidation report. 

Can someone describe how does the total quantity in BOM Consolidation report work?
