[11.2.0.1 on W2K8] ORA-12638 displayed during database creating

Hi, I had a problem while creating a database.
The error ORA-12638: "Credential retrieval failed" was displayed.
After tooking a look on internet, I found the following solution : outcomment the following line in sqlnet.ora.
SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES= (NTS)

Do you have any explanation about that problem ?
Did I apply the right solution ? (The side effect is that I'm now unable to connect using OS authentification).
