Why is the length of the lot number field
not adjustable in the Enter Receipts program (P4312)? Several other
programs have a processing option that allows you to designate a 12 or
15 character lot length.
Answer:
The 15 character lot number field in P4312 is standard functionality as of the A73C14 release, and will not change.
The processing option was added only for those programs in which the screen format changes if you choose to use the 15 character format versus the old 12 character format. For example, in earlier releases of A7.3, the Adjustment program (P4114) only allowed for a 12 character Lot field, which always displayed on the first line in the subfile. Now, if you change the processing option to display the 15 character format, you must open the fold (F4) to see the Lot field. In other words, the purpose of the processing option is not to protect the number of characters
