Personalization: Making an Invoice DFF View Only

Does anyone know how to personalize the Invoice Workbench form in R12 to make a DFF view-only?

We successfully made the Invoice (or "invoice header") columns view-only on that form [APXINWKB].  But we cannot make its DFF view-only.

We're trying to accomplish this through Personlization, because we need Holds section of this form enabled as Read/Write (or Updatable) to allow a responsibility to add and remove holds on an invoice without allowing it to update the invoice -- including its DFF.

We're on release 12.0.6.
