11g OMS , 10.2.0.5 repository configuration questions..
greetings oracle professionals, i am trying to get a new 11g OMS up and running and am not excited about blowing away my current 10.2.0.5 OMS in the process.. hoping someone can provide me specifics so i can either do the work or stop researching a way to actually accomplish what i am trying to.
is there a way to configure a new 11g OMS on one host, to point to a 10.2.0.5 repository DB on another host, and upgrade the metadata in place; without destroying all the SYSMAN metadata being used by the 10.2.0.5 OMS.
i cannot upgrade my current oms in place since this is also a hardware change, so i have installed and have a working instance of 11g oms pointed at a new 11g repository on another host. trying to figure out a way to point this to my 10.2.0.5 repo, upgrade the metadata to 11g, then upgrade the db to 11g. whichever order makes most sense..
