ifconfig deletes in /var/log/messages
Hello,
I administer 7 clusters (total of 20 servers), running Oracle RAC 11gR2 on AIX 6.1. We're having a problem with the VIP occasionally going offline on each of the two nodes in one of the two-node clusters.
While troubleshooting this, I see that in about half the servers, syslog logs entries similar to the following on a fairly regular basis:
Jun 3 11:34:32 <hostname> user:info syslog: /usr/sbin/ifconfig en12 x.x.x.x delete
The interfaces that are deleted are always either the VIP or one of the SCAN VIP's. Does anyone know what triggers these?
Thanks for any input. I'm an AIX admin, not a DBA....just trying to understand the messages.
