ASM 63 disk groups limit

hi,

for ASM i read that there is a maximum of 63 disk group per ASM instance.  for my test cluster with about 50 databases the NetApp consultant is designing 2 volumes/disk groups per database, one for dbf and one for flash recovery in order to use one of the backup/restore products.

this would put me over the 63 limit.  my question is what kind of workaround is there.  i can just create one disk group for everything and forget their tool.  but can i run multiple ASM instances on the same nodes to go beyond the 63 limit?  or am i missing something so that this 63 limit isn't true?
