"Include in Union Plan" Option under Advanced DBA Info

We have a DBA with the "Include in Union Plan" Option checked. I always thought that this option would enable to show the DBA in the Employee DBA Inst Screen and that it's an atlernative to the group plan DBA. Just now we added a new union code. But I could not see this DBA under the Employee DBA Inst Screen. If we have to manually add this DBA ( with the above option checked), then please let me know what is the purpose of this option.
