Dear all,

We have application server 10g (10.1.2.3 on IBM AIX 5.3) with database 10.2.0.4. We have multiple users performing update on a single table. Problem arises when a user session with application server abnormally disconnected.

We can see that session details in database even though it is abnormally disconnected from application server. Session in database is marked as INACTIVE and due to that abnormally disconnected session locking on database occured. I can confirm that locking is due to that abnormally disconnected session with blocking session in Grid control.

I have tried the following metalink note 549735.1 in which i changed FORMS_TIMEOUT and HEARTBEAT parameters and the solution works that if i abnormally disconnect the session that session gets disconnected from database as well after it surpasses FORMS_TIMEOUT value defined.

Howdy, Stranger!
