Siebel CRM version 8.1.1 upgrade process on the Microsoft SQL Server 2008 RDBMS

Siebel customers cannot directly upgrade from Siebel 7.x on  Windows 2000 + SQL Server 2000 to Siebel  8.1.1.x  on Windows 2008 32 bits + SQL Server 2008.

Here an example:

Current Environment: Siebel version 7.5, MS SQL Server 2000, MS Windows 2000 Server

Target Environment: Siebel version 8.1.1, MS SQL Server 2008, MS Windows 2008 32 bits Server


Oracle supports Siebel version 8.1.1 upgrades on the following combination:

MS SQL Server 2005, MS Windows 2003. (MSSQL Server 2008 support was added after Siebel version 8.1.1 was released, this RDBMS is supported but not for the Siebel upgrade process.)

..will be amended to make this point clearer.
