Approval List Routing Using AME/Block

If a requisition is in Pending status and the workflow is at GET NEXT APPROVER USING AME and it default to activityApproval List Routing Using AME/Block, how do i unblock because i did execute the Workflow Background Process
but the Requistion is still Pending.
