Oracle 10g - Data Guard

Hi All,

 

I would like to implement the data guard feature on my site. After check the documentation at Oracle® Data Guard Concepts and Administration
10g Release 2 (10.2).

I got a doubt. The Oracle instances, the primary and standby have the same name,the same configuration and files distribution.
But according to the documentation, the instances should have distinct names. Is that correct? I need to change the name of one instance?
