Updates and Patches

We are running World 9.1 and there are several updates or patches that we need to install.  I am an accounting person, not an I.T. person and I am being asked to test these updates in our test environment but really have no clue what to test based on the SARs I have been given.  Is there a palce to see what I need to test?  I need these put in production but can't get them there until the tests are done.  Any help would be greatly apprciated:)
