'Charge Periodicity' in Quoting R12

Hi
Can you please explain what is the meaning of 'Charge Periodicity' in R12 Quoting? This field can be brought in between 'Quantity' and 'List Price' column through personalization.

Please note I am using HTML quoting, not Form Quoting.
