Drop Shipment considered as Demand

Hi,

We have recently seen a very strange issue in our production environment. For a drop shipment order line as expected a purchase requisition/PO was created. The order line was in 'Awaiting Receipt' status. However the ASCP/planning also created a seperate purchase requisition/PO for the same item but with different quantity. We are not sure if this should happen. Our expectation was that ASCP/planning shouldn't consider drop ship order lines as demand as the supplier ships the material directly to the customer.

Please advise what can cause this to happen.
