Applied 10_Recommended.zip dated 30-jun; bazillions of new patches.

I apply patches (10_Recommended.zip) every 4 weeks due to my customer's requirements.  Last Sunday 24-jul, I believe 57 patches were applied, usually it is less than 15, sometimes as small as 4.  Is there some sort of realignment taking place internally regarding patching strategy (i.e. are previously large patchsets being broken down to more numerous smaller patches to accomplish some sort of end goal)  Or is this just an anomaly? (sp)
