how to clone a db to another server using full backup only

windows server 2003/ oracle 10.2.0.4

I would like to clone a database on to another server.  I only want to clone to a time where I have a full backup.  ie, I dont want rman to apply another archive logs

We do a full backup everynight, should I use the set until date to the begining of the backup, or use the scn?
