I'd like to answer this question which was raised during the Exadata Patching webinar today:
Q: "Configuring ASR on the compute nodes and cell nodes requires installing additional packages, is this supported ?"
A: You will need to identify and designate a standalone server that is running either Oracle Enterprise Linux or Solaris to serve as ASR Manager. This is not the compute node or storage node.
