Applying patches

Sorry for the duplication but I've posted this to the Installation, Boot, and Patching community also...
I'm trying to apply patches to my 3 node Sun Cluster and I don't understand what's going on.  I have zones running on each of the nodes and when I try to apply a patch like 121430-LR to one of the global zones, it tries to boot ALL of the zones defined in the cluster on this one server, which it can't,  and then fails.  The patch does not get applied to even the zones running on the one node.  When I specify the "-G" option to patchadd, it complains that "Patch <whatever> is for the global zone only...".  This
