Oracle EBS 11i Database Upgrade to 11gR2 - Is Manual Upgrade Method Supported?

Hi,

Our env is Oracle EBS 11(11.5.10 with 9.2.0.5.0)) and we want to upgrade to 11.5.10.2 with Database 11gR2.

I have completed upgrade up to 11.5.10.2 with 9.2.0.8.0. 

I upgraded (Test Upgrade) the database to Oracle Database 11gR2 (11.2.0.2.0) by following Interoperability Notes Oracle EBS 11i with Oracle Database 11gR2 (11.2.0.2) [ID 881505.1] and I upgraded the database manually by following Complete Checklist for Manual Upgrades to 11gR2 [ID 837570.1].  I have released the Instance for testing and feedback from users.

I raised SR with Oracle for some clarifications and they are informing me that I MUST use DBUA to upgrade an Oracle EBS Database to 11gR2 and Manual Upgrade method is NOT supported for Oracle EBS database upgrade. I preferred Manual Upgrade method as it gives more control and we would know what is happening during the database upgrade.
