Siebel Upgrade in IBM DB2 on z/OS
Hi Upgrade DB2 experts,
Requesting your help in this requirement, is it good to carry over or will it create any issues to siebel apps and DB if customer follow 1:M:1 model
Description:
In Customer Siebel upgrade from v7.5.3.15 to v8.1.1.5, we are trying to deploy a Siebel database schema structure which defers from the recommended 1:1:1. We are trying the method "create new tables in the 1:1:1 model and maintain existing tables in their current table space (Based on Siebel Database Upgrade Guide for DB2 for z/OS v8.1 on page: 73)".
What this means that all existing structure will remain as is but for all new tables defined for the new release will employ the 1:1:1 model. Based our discussion with our DBA, our DBA has highlighted that there is no value add from the DB2 perspective for all new tables to be defined in the 1:1:1 model as most of them will not be used/reference by the application.
