Cross Dock application P4614

Hi

Does anyone have experience in using the Cross docking application? We are using cross docking to minimise transportation costs. But we are not using warehouse management. But when we cross dock a sales and a purchase order we find that the sales order status is getting updated. But it does not happen consistently. It updates the status in some cases but it does not in some other cases. WE are not able to extablish the pattern. Can anyone help?
