Solaris patches required to upgrade M5000

Hello All,
I have a customer who wants to upgrade a M5000. It has three SPARC64 VI @2.1GHz CPU modules, two domains configured (one domain has two CPU 
module and the other domain one CPU module).
He wants to upgrade only the domain that has two CPU modules, replacing from 2,1GHz to SPARC64 VII+ @2.66GHz, using all of the L2 cache.
So he will need the new motherboard (SELX4002Z) besides the new CPU modules.

The question is:
Does customer need to upgrade the solaris patches in the domain that is not going to be upgraded with new CPU modules?
