Assets Adjustments API - Life years adjustment

We are to perform an assets adjustment on selected categories on Life Years in TAX book.

Please advise if its advisable to use the Assets Adjustments API to do modification of Life years of an assets For example there were assets that we need to change life years from 10years to 5 years and there were some from 5years to 7years. Also there's also scenario where in you need to '0' life of an assets.

Also, What will be our backup/rollback process/plan if something happened on after the run of the Adjustment API?
