Events invalid in Subledger Accounting

When reviewing our subledger accounting exception report we see that we have many events that are invalid.  The cost distribution lines state that the "Event is invalid in Subledger Accounting."  When I run the sweep process in draft mode I get a report that shows me another error message.  It states

"Subledger Accounting was unable to derive an accounting code combination using the account derivation rule
Cost Adjustment Account Rule owned by Oracle. Please review the account derivation rule and make sure it
derives a valid accounting flexfield combination for the source values passed for the transaction."

We use auto accounting to derive our account strings and don't know anything about subledger accounting.  Has anyone encountered these errors and if so do you know how to correct them?  I do have an SR open but am not making any progress.
