FDM Drill Back after DATACOPY vs Copy Version Routine

I'm copying one version of our forecast to another version for safe keeping.  I want to keep our FDM Drill Back capability that we have in the source version, in the target version (I want to be able to Drill Back in both).  Does it matter if I use a script/BR with DATACOPY versus using the Planning Copy Version routine (Tools/Copy Version)?  One caveat is that I have to clear the data in the target version and AGG it before copying, otherwise the upper level blocks don't always clear and it doesn't AGG properly after copying the data.
