Does the volume incentive adjustment in advanced pricing work for non-stock items?

I have read that basket and order re-pricing do not work for non-stock items. However, I have not found any documentation that states whether the volume incentive adjustment works for non-stock items. I have run some tests, but I do no know if I have missed a step in my setup or if the functionality does not exist.
